The Las Cenizas Mining Group is committed to promoting initiatives that foster sustainable development in the community. In this regard, the company participated in an educational workshop at the second meeting of the environmental roundtable.
In an effort to bolster our environmental initiatives at the local level, we took an active role in the second meeting of the public-private roundtable. This forum fosters dialogue and collaboration among various stakeholders to address the environmental challenges facing the community.
The “Climate Mural” activity, which was divided into groups and used cards to represent different environmental concepts, aimed to provide an overview of climate change, specifically its causes and consequences, through a participatory and educational methodology.
“The game facilitates numerous interactions, allowing participants to discuss their experiences and perspectives on the implications within the Taltal community,” explained Tancrède de Maleissye, ESG (Environmental, Social, Government) and communities practitioner at Engie Chile.
“As Las Cenizas Mining Group, it is important to participate in this type of environmental awareness activity, and above all to have a space for dialogue to build sustainable solutions for our community,” said our Community Manager, Vannesa Gutiérrez.
Along with our representative from Las Cenizas Mining Group, there was also participation from the Municipality of Taltal, the Port Authority of Taltal, Aguas Antofagasta, Taltal Sustentable, COPEC, Colbun, Engie Chile, the Victoriano Quinteros Soto Home School, and the Juan Cortes Monroy Cortes High School.
